India- Russia Youth Forum aims to provide a platform to promote cross-border and cross-cultural interaction from both the countries. It also extends a hub for the youth to deliberate upon various global issues and policies and inspires them to become the next generation of global thinkers and leaders.
IRYF has about 12 International members who are students at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). IRYF organizes events taking into consideration the interests of both the sides and ensures active participation.
IRYF has a flourishing international network and relations with Russian Centre of Science and Culture and we actively partner with the Embassy of Russian Federation. The forum has hosted a Chat With a Diplomat session with Mr. Roman Babushkin,Deputy Chief of Mission on the topic ""BRICS: A viable instrument for calibrating Indo-Russian ties at bilateral and multilateral levels"" at the Embassy of Russian Federation.
Every year, IRYF in association with MGIMO organizes an International Youth Conference on matters of International significance and socio-economic issues of our countries. It is the forum's absolute honor to host the Russian delegations. Some of the eminent diplomats and speakers who've been invited for the Youth conference are, Mr. Roman Babushkin, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Russian Federation in the Republic of India, Amb. Vishnu Prakash, former High Commissioner of India to South Korea and Canada, Ms. Pooja Tillu, Deputy Secretary (Eurasia), Ministry of External Affairs, Mr. Evgeny Bezeka, First Secretary (Bilateral), Embassy of Russian Federation and Mr. Nandan Unnikrishnan, Distinguished Fellow, Observer Research Fellowship.

Qazi Furooz Shamas, Chairperson

Furooz is a third-year student at Lady Shri Ram College for Women majoring in Political Science. She has been a part of the forum for the past two years and hopes to make this session as engaging and dynamic as she can in her capacity as a chairperson this year.

Jomilin John,  Deputy Chairperson

Jomilin John is a final-year political science student at the University of Delhi. A youth and climate advocate and the founder of a young youth organization named CANIOP, she has a keen interest in international relations and diplomacy and has even represented India in various youth and climate conferences and is an active team member of international organizations such as YOUNGO UNFCCC, WYA, etc. An avid reader, writer, and public speaker with published works even on esteemed platforms like the Times of India. She aims to work for the holistic development of youth by being the deputy chairperson of the forum this year.

Alesya Khanevskaya, Secretary

Alesya Andreevna Khanevskaya is a second year BA (Hons) Economics student at Lady Shri Ram College for Women. She has a keen interest in International Relations- specially between the two countries she is from- India and Russia. Having been a part of the forum for the past year as well, she looks forward to developing a deeper understanding of the political, economic, social and cultural relations between India and Russia. Other things she is passionate about include classical dance, basketball and meditation.
